Fast & Furious 8 cast news: Vin Diesel shares logo and New York location in Instagram post

Prepare to gear up and fasten those seatbelts as hit movie series franchise Fast and Furious gets its eight movie with "Fast & Furious 8". As early as now, the movie is already set to hit theaters on April 14, 2017.
Latin Post reported that actor Vin Diesel recently revealed the filming location for the upcoming movie. Just like what was previously hinted, Diesel confirmed that Furious 8 filming would be in New York. The 47-year old actor revealed the information through his Instagram post last Tuesday, uploading a photo of a seemingly prototype of a movie poster for Fast and Furious 8 with the Brooklyn Bridge on the background.
Previous reports also claim of rumors about the film to also partly shoot in the Philippines, particularly in Epifanio de lo Santos Avenue or EDSA, the busiest highway in the country. No official news regarding this as of the moment.
Familiar actors return for the film, as well as new characters, and rumors of new cast. Actor Kurt Russell returns to reprise his role as Mr. Nobody in the recent Furious 7.
"I always think of these films in multiple pictures in advance," Diesel previously said. "Kurt Russell came in for this movie but we really hired him for a story that follows this, that takes place in New York."
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson also confirmed that he would be reprising his role for the movie, as he told Collider that the movie "can't go on without Hobbs".
Also,Jason Statham, the actor who plays Deckard Shaw, teased on the return of his villainous character. "I'd certainly come back for the next one," Statham said through MTV News. Statham adds that his Spy co-star Melissa McCarthy could play the character of Shaw's sister.
Cody Walker, brother of the late Paul Walker, is also rumoured to be joining the cast as a new character. Cody previously joined Furious 7 as a double for his late brother Paul, to be able in incorporate the remaining scenes of the late actor that is not yet filmed.

Paul Walker's Custom-Made Toyota Supra Stunt Car Auctioned for £120,000

"Fast & Furious 7" continues to be in the news for breaking records. In a recent auction held at Indianapolis, the custom-made Toyota Supra Stunt car driven by Paul Walker's character Brian O'Conner was sold for £1,20,000.
This 7th installment in the "Fast and Furious" series has earned over one million dollar in less than 20 days. The movie had all the elements required for making it a blockbuster. The only thing that fans missed was Paul Walker, who died in a car accident half way through the filming of "Fast & Furious 7".
Paul Walker's death came as a shock to his fans who were accustomed to seeing the actor drive high-powered cars in all the six "Fast and Furious" films.
Meanwhile, the movie has broken all the possible records and it is seen as a tribute to late Paul Walker. Most recently, Paul Walker's stunt car earned a whopping £1,20,000. Though it looks like a huge figure, it is lesser than what the experts had predicted.
"According to the experts the famous Toyota Supra Stunt car driven by Paul Walker's character Brian O'Conner, was to bag over euro 2,00,000. The figure fell short of close to $20,000 at the Mecum Auction. The car was one of the few which was a stunt car in true sense. With an engine powered over 200 horsepower and 6 cylinders. The engine is backed with a 19 speed gearbox and fitted with NOS," reported Day Herald.
The report, while giving two reasons as to why the car attracted such a huge amount, also stated that Eddie Paul tailored this car that has Yokohama tyres, full role cage, a high strength fuel tank and a body kit well painted with body graphics.
"Firstly, the car was driven by late Paul Walker in the first edition of Fast and the Furious and the other being the very fact that it were these hot wheels that made Fast and the Furious popular," the report said.
Well, looks like "Fast & Furious 7" has done its job. Now, we have to wait and watch what "Fast and Furious 8" brings for its fans.

'Fast and Furious 8' Spoilers: Latest Updates About 'Furious 7' Sequel [VIDEO]

The latest update has to do with Dwayne Johnson confirming his involvement in the Furious 7 sequel. Johnson spoke to Collider about how Hobbs was integral to the plot. "Of course. It can't go on without Hobbs," he said.
Johnson went on to talk about the possibility of a spin-off relating to his character, a movie with Hobbs as protagonist. "We all are interested in it. I just had a big conversation with the studio. So we'll see," he said of the prospect. "I still think for me personally we've created a little bit of space for him in '7' and the gauge is set for what the audience will want. That's my take on it, you know, but a lot of other people have to have input."
In an interview with MTV Diesel stated that Paul Walker was certain of a sequel for Furious 7.
"Paul used to say that ['Fast & Furious] 8' was guaranteed and, in some ways, when your brother guarantees something, you have to make sure it comes to pass," Diesel said.
He went on to place Walker in the next project beautifully stating that next film will be "from" him.
"So, if fate has it - fate, 'F8' - then you'll get it. 'Furious 7′ was for Paul; 8 is from Paul.'"
Recently, The Hollywood Reporter reveals that it's still going to be a while to go before Fast and Furious 8 goes into production.
The film's producer Neal Moritz spoke the publication about their vision for the sequel to Furious 7. He suggested that right now the moment was about celebrating the massive success of Furious 7 and they will get to discussing what their plans are going forward in a while.
"Honestly, we're just bathing in the success of this," he said. "We'll probably get together in a week or so to talk."
Fast and Furious 8 will be released on April 15, 2017.
Furious 7 hit theaters on April 3, 2015.

Fast and Furious 8 release date, cast news: Hobbs set to return for new movie

Dwayne Johnson will be back on board for Fast and Furious 8. The WWE superstar and actor confirmed that he will be back for the next installment, answering the questions in mind as far as his return is concerned.
Known as the Rock, Johnson confirmed his return at press conference for his upcoming film, San Andreas. Johnson made his first appearance in Fast Five and has become a vital cog in the Fast and the Furious lineup.
With the untimely passing of Paul Walker, questions came up on who would be returning or not. Kurt Russell is one name that is expected to be back for Fast and Furious 8 but a question on Johnson's return came up especially after his contract was up. And now all those pondering have come to an end as Johnson joins Vin Diesel as the confirmed actors returning for the sequel slated to be released on April 14, 2017,
Speculations of Johnson's probable exit started with his minimal appearance on the record-breaking Fast and Furious 7. He practically appeared at the start and end of the movie, limited and hence inviting rumors that he could be out when the eighth part comes around.
For those who are unfamiliar, Hobbs joined the franchise as a CIA Agent who was initially commissioned to track down Dominic Torreto (Vin Diesel). They eventually became friends and teamed up taking on various adversaries.
Another thing that fans may want to look forward to is a planned spinoff which could be centered on agent Hobbs. Outside of aligning himself with Diesel and company, there could be more stories to tell on Hobbs, hence a possible spinoff.
Whatever the plans may be, the only thing certain is that Dwayne 'the Rock' Johnson will return on Fast and Furious 8 slated to be released in the Spring of 2017.

‘Furious 8’ News: 5 Things You Didn’t Know About Late Paul Walker’s Brother, Cody, Who Is Rumored To Join Upcoming Film

Late actor Paul Walker's brother, Cody Walker, is said to be willing to join 'Furious 8,' after Vin Diesel confirmed that a new film from the 'Fast & Furious' franchise is going to happen. In fact, it already has a release date and it's on April 14, 2017.
It can be noted that Cody Walker stepped into the franchise's latest release, 'Furious 7,' after his brother died of a terrible car accident. New York Daily News has learned that the 26-year-old aspiring actor is very open to work with Diesel and the cast and crew of the new flick. Interestingly, instead of filling in for his brother's shoes, Cody is said to join the team as a different character.
Since there are no confirmations yet, it's still early to tell whether Cody will really be part of the action-packed flick. Nevertheless, for fans who are already interested in Paul Walker's brother, here are 5 facts about the 'Furious 7' star:
1. Cody really has this big resemblance to his brother, Paul Walker.
If you haven't heard yet, Cody stepped into his late brother's shoes just so 'Furious 7' could wrap up filming. All thanks to their undeniable resemblance, the producers of the movie didn't have a hard time in looking for the double to play Paul's character in the flick.
2. Cody Walker really admires his brother.
According to Just Jared , Cody has this high regard for his late brother. The younger Walker has this big admiration for his brother. "He loved cars, but he had so many different passions, so many different loves. [He was] multi-faceted, [an] adventurer, spontaneous, obsessive-compulsive. He was a really great example for me," Cody Walker was quoted saying of his late brother.
3. Cody Walker is a college degree holder.
Cody Walker reportedly graduated from La Canada High School in 2006. Following which, he went to University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) and finished college with a Bachelor's Degree in Cultural Anthropology.
4. Cody is a licensed Paramedic.
Cody is actually a licensed paramedic after earning his Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification from University of California, Los Angeles Center for Prehospital Care. Sources say he moved to Oregon to become a paramedic. In June 2013, he realized that dream. He even worked in an ambulance for two and a half years.
5. Walker is already pursuing an acting career.
After successfully filling in for his brother in 'Furious 7,' Cody is said to be taking the necessary steps in securing a professional acting career both in film and in television.  Cody is said to be working with Paul's manager Matt Luber of Luber Rocklin Entertainment, The Hollywood Reporter reports.

If Cody Walker would really become part of 'Furious 8,' fans will finally get to see his acting prowess without the need to take over a role that's originally portrayed by his late brother.

Vin Diesel Confirms Fast And Furious 8, Get The Details

With Furious 7 roaring past the billion-dollar mark at the box office, Fast and Furious 8seemed like an inevitability. There’s already been talk and a few potential plot details mentioned, but with the tragic death of franchise stalwart Paul Walker, it sounded like they might take some time to regroup before moving forward. However, it was just revealed that they already have a potential release date for the next installment, and it’s sooner than you might have expected.

Talking at CinemaCon in Las Vegas today, Walker’s co-headliner Vin Diesel revealed that they are aiming to get the next movie into theaters on April 14, 2017. There aren’t really any other significant details to share at this point, but with a date less than two years away, that seems to indicate that Universal Pictures has a plan in place, and from what Diesel said in the build up to Furious 7, that could very well be the case.

Doing the press rounds for the film, which became the fastest movie to reach $1 billion dollars at the box office milestone, Diesel revealed a couple juicy details about the current plans for Fast and Furious 8. One is that cinematic badass Kurt Russell’s character, the shadowy government agent known only as Mr. Nobody, could play a bigger role in the next adventure. In fact, Diesel said that Russell was hired for Furious 7 with the intention of beefing up his presence in future arcs.

It also sounds like Fast and Furious 8 is taking the show on the road. No stranger to exotic locales, the franchise has been all over the world, but their roots have always remained in Southern California. Again, according to Diesel, New York, a city they haven’t visited on screen yet, will figure prominently in the story. Whether that will be the main location, or one of many on a whirlwind tour, remains to be seen, but it’ll be cool to see jazzed up hot rods tearing through the Big Apple.

In addition to beefing up Mr. Nobody’s role, it also sounds like they’re looking to invite a familiar face back to the party in the form of Eva Mendes. Reports circulated a while back that she could reprise her role as U.S. Customs Agent Monica Fuentes from 2 Fast 2 Furious. She shows up in the post-credits scene from Fast Five, and if the story includes more government involvement, it’s entirely plausible that she could show up.

We don’t know much about Fast and Furious 8, like whether or not Furious 7 helmerJames Wan will be back for more, but now we know when to expect it: April 14, 2017.

Furious 8 Behind The Scenes - Vin Diesel, Cody Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez

Fast and Furious 8 to film in the Philippines

Still not enough of Fast and Furious franchise? Be prepared Fast and Furious 8 with the shooting in the Philippines.

Vin Diesel has truly fallen in love with the Philippines and the Filipinos’ warm and hospitable personality. The Hollywood actor wants to shoot the next “Fast And The Furious” in the Philippines, and said he will talk with its producers to make that possible.

And while it’s almost certain that most if not all of the original cast will return with possibly some new actors in tow, nothing much has really been revealed about the movie.
During the press junket of the “Fast & Furious 6″ in Fairmont, Makati, Diesel said he fell in love with the country and its people. He has already heard about the Philippines from his sister-in-law, who is a Filipina, but this is the first time he was able to visit the Southeast Asian country.
Diesel said he was very happy to know that “Fast & Furious 6″ was the first Hollywood movie to premiere in the Philippines. The next day after he arrived, the actor explored the city via a rented jeepney. Photos of the Hollywood star riding the said jeepney spread on social networking sites.

Unfortunately, no one was able to cover the said news, thus everything from the said publication should be taken with a grain of salt.
“Our tour here was so incredible that when I go back to LA and when we start doing, developing 7, 8, 9, I will tell Universal that I want to shoot in the Philippines. That is because of you,” Diesel said at the premiere night.
“This is the best premiere I’ve ever been to in my life. As you know my sister-in-law is from the Philippines and she told me to say this: ‘Mahal ko kayo.'”
Universal nor Vin Diesel has yet to comment on the news by Manila Live Wire as of press time.

Fast & Furious 8′ movie cast rumors: Kurt Russell, Eva Mendes, and Cody Walker to return?

Details are fairly scanty about the flick. Fans only know the premiere date of the film and some possible details on the storyline. During the ComicCon in Las Vegas, Vin Diesel, who fans know as Dominic Toretto in the “Fast & Furious” movies, revealed that there will be an eighth film, which is set to be released on April 14, 2017.
It was also Diesel who suggested the possibility of Kurt Russell’s character’s return in the film. In “Furious 7,” Mr. Nobody was one of the many problems of the Toretto gang although his role was only meant to be small. So it looks like the character would do bigger damage in the next movie just as the gang delves into the world of sly government officials.

Jackie Chan & Daniel Graig in Furious 8

"Furious 8" just crossed the $1 billion mark, making it the fastest film to reach that milestone. It's current worldwide box office now sits at $1.153 billion, so it's no surprise if a new installment is in the pipeline. In this regard, Cody Walker is rumored to take up his late brother Paul Walker's place in the next film.
It was previously reported by New York Daily News that Cody was in talks to pursue an acting career after he and his brother Caleb stepped in to shoot the remaining scenes of Paul after his untimely death in 2013. Cody has since signed a deal with Paradigm, the same company that launched Paul's career.
According to that report, Cody is open to all types of roles and there have been no confirmation whether or not he'd be coming back to the "Fast and Furious" films as his own character.
"I'm not sure if they are going to make an eighth movie, but if they did, I'm sure he would entertain a conversation (about a role)," manager Matt Luber told New York Daily News.
A new report from the IBTimes now states that if he would be called in, then Cody would indeed appear in "Fast and Furious 8." It's likely that he would no longer be a replacement for Paul's character, Brian O'Connor, but would instead portray an entirely different character. Perhaps he could be written as Brian's brother or cousin.
Another actor who has confirmed his return is Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson who portrays the tough military leader Luke Hobbs.
"I talked to Vin [Diesel] today, we had a nice discussion, and I think whatever it is, whatever we come up with for 'Furious 8,' we have to raise the bar, in terms of action, yes, but also in terms of story and character," the actor said, cited by the IBTimes.
Fans should expect "Furious 8" pretty soon. With "Furious 7" earning more than $1 billion at the box office, an eighth film is only inevitable.

Too Fast and Too Furious? – New Photos and Details!

Fast & Furious 8′ movie cast rumors: Kurt Russell, Eva Mendes, and Cody Walker to return?

“Furious 7,” the latest in “The Fast and the Furious” franchise, was a blockbuster success. It broke the records of its own predecessors and embedded itself into cinematic history. And due to this unbridled success, the roadster-centric film series will further expand with “Fast & Furious 8.”

Details are fairly scanty about the flick. Fans only know the premiere date of the film and some possible details on the storyline.
