JANUARY Jones is trying on some different looks.
The Mad Men actress
experiments with style, even stripping down and posing topless with long hair
covering her breasts, for Violet Grey’s The Violet Files magazine.
“We wanted to do
an elevated take on before-and-after photos and explore the idea that a lot of
women, myself included, feel less vulnerable once they’re dressed and have
their makeup on,” Jones told the publication. “It’s like you’ve put your armour
on for the day.”
When it comes to feeling confident, the actress said she actually began to lose confidence when she started getting “pretty” in high school. Almost a year ago, the actress posted a viral picture of herself on Instagram sporting a mullet in the fifth grade.
“I was at my
most confident as a kid,” she admitted. “So I want to give the message that
girls can be proud and self-assured no matter what funky haircut they have.”
The
37-year-old also hinted at what viewers can expect from the final batch of
episodes of Mad Men, which premieres on Foxtel soon.
“I was
surprised, but the show has always surprised me,” Jones said. “Each episode is
so good and sort of ties up things — not in a perfect bow, obviously — but I
think the audience will be happy.”
