Comeback? United want Pogba return
Here are all the latest Red Devils
stories from today's Daily Mirror...
Tackling a problem
Louis van Gaal
has warned his Manchester United players they must keep their coolin the heat of derby battle
tomorrow.
United had to
play with 10 men for 51 minutes in November's 1-0 defeat to City at the Etihad Stadium,
following Chris Smalling's dismissal for two bookings.
The veteran boss said United's total of
five red cards this season is the most he has endured as a manager and has told
his players they cannot afford another tomorrow.
Van Gaal knows that if United are to end
City's run of four straight derby victories and continue their own winning run
in the Premier League, they must not lose their heads.
"I have started our preparation
with the red card," said Van Gaal.
LVG's dream
Louis van
Gaal revealed he "dreams" of winning Sunday's Manchester derby.
Manchester United take on local rivals
City at Old Trafford, with Van Gaal's side aiming to go four points clear of
the faltering champions with a win.
And Van Gaal said victory over Manuel
Pellegrini's side would be the realisation of a dream for the United boss.
"Of course
I dream of it, that is not the problem," said Van Gaal.
"Every player dreams of victory. I
have to think with my staff and my players, already a lot of days, how we have
to beat City."
Depay 'likely' to leave PSV
Manchester
United have been given a boost in their pursuit of Memphis Depay after PSV director Marcel Brands
revealed the winger is likely to leave the Philips Stadion in the summer.
The Dutchman is a transfer target of
Louis van Gaal as the 63-year-old looks to bolster his wide options ahead of an
attempted title charge next season.
Depay was part of Van Gaal's Holland
squad to reach the World Cup semi-finals last summer and Brands has admitted
the club is resigned to the fact that they could lose their star man.
"The chances are very high that he
leaves," Brands told ANP. "If you see what clubs are enquiring about
him, they really are the best in Europe.
"When I talk for PSV I would say he
is not ready and should continue here for another year. But I am realistic and
if I worked at a big European club, I’d buy him without question."

out of contract in 2016 and United are determined to sign an out-and-out
right-back in the summer, with Rafael da Silva expected to leave the club, report the Manchester Evening News.
